Wow, Cavalia!
Larry King called Cavalia, “The greatest show I have ever seen.” Given the number of shows he’s experienced and events he’s attended, that is high praise indeed. Having recently seen it myself, I share his enthusiasm for this spectacular performance.
Held in Atlantic Station in Atlanta, Cavalia is an extraordinary show from Quebec. Celebrating the relationship between horse and man, under the largest touring tent in North America, Cavalia blew me and my wife Rhonda away.
I was expecting it to be inspiring, it was after all created by one of the founders of the unparalleled Cirque du Soleil. But this was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Dozens of beautiful horses ran and danced under the big top as if they’d been choreographed for years. Riders leapt from back to back to back of sprinting stallions. Lights and music and 360 degrees of a sensational production exploded non stop as we sat watching in our seats.
There are dozens of business lessons to take from Cavalia. You could write a leadership book about what they produced, from the team of 40 people who reportedly take 12 days to set up the tent to the 60 horses that only practice one hour a day and play two hours. But for now, the business lessons will have to wait.
All I can say is wow, Cavalia!
Have you ever had a show or event take your breath away?
